Igloo, the Singapore-based insurtech (OSV II) dedicated to serving underserved communities in Southeast Asia, has taken a significant leap forward in smartphone protection.

Igloo has partnered with two of Asia's leading smartphone brands, OPPO and realme, to offer smartphone protection and after-sales services. The partnership initially launched in Singapore with OPPO and in the Philippines with realme, and is set to expand across the region, including Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Thailand.

Igloo's offerings include screen protection plans for OPPO smartphones starting at just US$ 0.074 (SG$ 0.1) per day, along with extended warranty plans, accidental warranty plans, and screen damage protection plans for realme smartphones starting at US$ 0.0035 (PHP 0.2) per day.

This partnership also reshapes the customer purchase journey, offering a smoother customer purchase experience. After-sales services, which were only offered offline before, are now available on OPPO's and realme's official websites and other distribution channels.

Commenting on the partnership, CEO of Igloo, Raunak Mehta, expressed Igloo’s commitment to ensuring the accessibility of insurance products that address emerging risks arising from customers’ digital lifestyles.

“OPPO and realme have a variety of smartphone product lines that cater to wide audiences, which helps Igloo champion its mission of insurance for all with enhanced accessibility through our partner-friendly API capabilities,” Mehta stated in a release.

Now, Igloo has facilitated more than 300 million policies, and partnered with more than 70 companies across 8 countries with more than 15 insurance products in its expanding product suite.
