Ampd Energy, a Singapore-based manufacturer of the Enertainer™ and Ampd Silo™ battery energy storage system (BESS) for heavy industries has successfully closed an oversubscribed Series B funding round, raising $27.3 million.

The funding was co-led by Openspace, the largest investtor in this round, and Kibo Invest, with participation from existing investors, including MTR Lab, Taronga Ventures, and 2150. This significant injection of capital will allow Ampd to further its mission of decarbonizing high-emission industries by expanding into new verticals like mining and manufacturing and into new regions including the Middle East, Europe, the United States, and Southeast Asia.

Ampd's flagship products, the Enertainer™ and Ampd Silo™, are mobile BESS solutions designed to replace diesel generators in sectors with intermittent but high energy demands like mining and construction. These industries, which traditionally rely heavily on diesel, are major contributors to carbon emission. Ampd’s products have the capacity to reduce carbon emissions by up to 90%, help improve on-site air quality by removing harmful pollutants from the air, and lower noise pollution, creating a cleaner and safer environment. For example, the Enertainer can save up to 12.5 tonnes of CO₂ and 7,000 liters of diesel monthly, delivering a cost efficiency that ranges between 10-20% compared to traditional diesel generators.

To date, Ampd has deployed more than 300 units across seven countries, primarily in the construction sector, with plans to expand further into manufacturing and marine industries. These units have collectively abated over 69,000 tonnes of CO₂, which is equivalent to removing more than 88,000 cars from the road.

"We're pleased to back Ampd Energy, which has demonstrated impressive current traction to date and are, even now, just starting to realize the full potential of its energy storage solutions in Southeast Asia and globally. The backbone of the business is a committed and strong management team, who have shown time after time what it takes to build in a commercially viable yet impactful way. We're looking forward to partnering with Ampd Energy to deliver the significantly reduced reliance on diesel that their innovations make possible.”— Jessica Huang Pouler, Partner at Openspace.
