Biofourmis and GE HealthCare have announced a strategic partnership aimed at revolutionizing patient care by enabling safe, effective, and accessible care-at-home program in the post-acute setting. This collaboration is poised to not only enhance patient safety but also drive accessibility while reducing the cost of care.

Hospital systems now are facing increased costs of care attributed to workforce shortages, shrinking bed capacity and increasing readmission rates. In response, such at-home care programs address these challenges using technology and high quality remote solutions, enabling support for patient recovery and safety while potentially reducing fall risks and hospital-acquired infections.

Biofourmis' digital platform is equipped with FDA-cleared AI-guided algorithms that provide enhanced clinical context for care teams. GE Healthcare is set to integrate Biofurmis' care-at-home solutions into its patient monitoring portfolio to support patient care from the hospital to home. This integration will enable care teams to deliver personalized, site-agnostic care tailored to individual patient needs.

The central point of this collaboration also lies in facilitating earlier patient discharge while ensuring that patients continue to receive high-quality care at home. Additionally, this care-at-home program offers alternatives to facility-based care, providing patients with options beyond hospitalization.

"Our collaboration will enable health systems and hospitals to leverage the power of technology and data in order to shape patient-focused solutions across the care continuum, no matter where the site of care is," stated Ross Armstrong, General Manager of Biofourmis Care.

GE HealthCare will start the distribution of Biofourmis solutions to costumers in the United States, starting in Q1 2024.
