Our Director, Nichapat Ark, had the privilege to participate at the Startup x Innovation Thailand Expo 2023 as a featured speaker on the panel discussion titled Unleashing the Potential: Investment Trends in Southeast Asia’s Tech and Startup Landscape.

Startup x Innovation Thailand Expo 2023, held on 22-24 June 2023 at the Queen Sirikit National convention Center, provided a platform for a comprehensive analysis of investment trends in Southeast Asia’s dynamic ecosystem. This event offered a deeper understanding of the region’s key growth areas and explored diverse investment opportunities across various sectors.

During the panel session, Nicha highlighted the evolution of investment due diligence. She shared how the focus has shifted from solely prioritizing growth potential to now considering a balanced approach that takes into account both growth and profitability potential. This adjustment allows early-stage startups to secure funding, even if they are still at the stage of pre-profit, as long as they demonstrate unique solutions and have strong unit economics, high retention metrics, and substantial top-line traction within a sizable TAM (Total Addressable Market).

Nicha also expressed her optimism about the startup industry in Thailand as she has seen an increase in deal flows in sectors such as sustainability, B2B SaaS, and consumer-focused industries. This upward trend indicates that there’s a growing interest and potential investment opportunities in these sectors.
