Six Openspace portfolio companies have secured spots on the Forbes Asia 100 To Watch list for 2023. Forbes highlights notable, emerging companies catering to underserved markets or applying new technologies, from generative AI to blood-based cancer diagnostics. The list spans thirteen countries and territories, covering eleven distinct categories, including biotechnology and healthcare, e-commerce and retail, and finance.

Here are the portfolio companies featured on the Forbes Asia 100 To Watch list:

  1. Abacus Digital

Abacus Digital is a fintech brand on a mission to create a fairer financial system in Thailand. With a portfolio of products, they are providing constructive credit, and in doing so are, for the first time, giving people a real chance to pursue their ambitions and create a Thailand where access to opportunity is not limited by access to credit. Abacus Digital recognizes the challenges and risks people have traditionally faced in the sector and has designed its products to be easily used and understood by customers with all levels of digital and financial literacy.

  1. Beleaf Farms

Beleaf started out as a hydroponic farm specializing in leafy greens in 2019 before expanding to sell other farming products and eventually venturing into the FaaS (Farming as a Service) model in 2022. Beleaf is building an integrated platform to provide farmers with access to high-quality inputs, agronomy guidance, cutting-edge technology, and sales and marketing support to improve the yields and productivity of local farmers.

  1. iSeller

iSeller is an omnichannel sales and payment SaaS with offline/online functionality that matches the digital needs of merchants. They give business owners the tools they need to create, build, and grow within Indonesia’s vibrant online ecosystem.

  1. Lucence

This technology has also now been applied to a further breakthrough core product, LucenceINSIGHT. Launched in Asia in 2023, it uses these liquid biopsies to detect cancer earlier, giving people a real chance to discover and treat the disease.

LucenceINSIGHT will help deliver better outcomes on an individual patient level, and lower the rate of avoidable cancer deaths. On a systemic level, it will help reduce the burdens of cancer care on health systems across the world, often confronting aging populations.

  1. Nutrition Technologies

Nutrition technologies actively creates sustainable protein for a better world. Nutrition Technologies is mass-producing high-quality, affordable insect products and pioneering new biotechnologies to enable a more sustainable agricultural sector. It is the leading Black Soldier Fly (BSF) protein producer in the region and has received strong market product validation.

  1. SariSuki

Sarisuki is actively reshaping the food supply. SariSuki is on a mission to disrupt an inefficient and complex supply chain by providing high-quality products to consumers at more affordable prices, by embracing technology, online channels, and a community buying model. With SariSuki, any Filipino with a smartphone and internet connection can gain an extra source of income by becoming one of the brand’s community leaders–managing their own online store to provide fresh goods and essential items to their communities.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Abacus Digital, Belaf, iSeller, Lucence, Nutrition Technologies, and SariSuki for this well-deserved recognition!
